Church by the Bay
Since the replanting of Moorlands in 2005, the vision has always been to be a church planting church as we are convinced of the need for more gospel churches throughout the Lancaster and Bay area.
Church by the Bay is our first church plant into the seaside town of Morecambe. Gerry Straker, formerly our assistant pastor, is heading up the plant supported by his wife Catherine (and two children Jack and May). They are being joined by a team of people originally from Moorlands Church who live in the Morecambe area. The Strakers have lived in the West End since moving to the area in July 2008 and love living in Morecambe. They are delighted with this opportunity to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to people in their town.
They began to meet in September 2010 as a Bible study group with a view to becoming a new church. They started formally on 11th September 2011 as an independent church at the Galloway's Centre in the West End of Morecambe. They meet each week at 10:30am on Sundays at the Galloway's Centre.
