Gerry and Catherine Straker, Church by the Bay, Morecambe
Gerry Straker, formerly our Assistant Pastor, is heading up our first church plant, Church by the Bay, supported by his wife Catherine (and four children Jack, May, Izzy and Phoebe). They are being joined by a team of people originally from Moorlands Church who live in the Morecambe area. The Strakers have lived in the West End since moving to the area in July 2008 and love living in Morecambe. They are delighted with this opportunity to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to people in their town.
Peter and Kirsty Bramhall, Trinity Church, Milnthorpe
Peter, Kirsty, Nathaniel, Harry and Joel moved to Milnthorpe in June 2016, where Peter was to become the minister at Trinity Church Milnthorpe. Trinity Church is to begin in October 2016 as a church plant from Parr Street Evangelical Church in Kendal. Peter will lead the church plant as they seek to grow as disciples of Jesus and proclaim the life changing news of Jesus to people in Milnthorpe and the surrounding areas.
After completing his training at Moore Theological College in 2010 Peter has been working at Christ Church Fulwood in Sheffield as a student worker. Kirsty is looking to be fully involved in the church and seeking work as a Speech and Language Therapist.
James and Myriam Hely-Hutchinson, Belgium Bible Institute
Before becoming the Director of the Belgian Bible institute James trained at Moore Theological College, Sydney and completed a PhD at the Faculté Libre de Théologie Evangélique de Vaux-sur-Seine in France. Under his leadership the Institute's aim is to "train faithful, competent, godly servants of the gospel for the harvest field of French-speaking Europe in order to promote God's glory". Myriam supports James in his ministry and looks after their daughter Clara. We are privileged to support them as a church in this strategic gospel work.
Sally Miller, Friends International Staff Worker
Sally moved to Lancaster to study in 2010 and since then has been a member of Moorlands Church. During her time here she has lovingly taught and discipled international students and families at church.
In 2014 Sally began a job as one of the Friends International Staff Workers in Lancaster. This role enables her to meet and disciple many international people, particularly through the Saturday night International Cafe and International Real Food group.
