Ministry Apprenticeships

Each year a number of our students are invited to set aside one or two years after graduation to serve as a Ministry Trainee, either at Moorlands or in another church elsewhere.

Such “Apprenticeship” programmes can be a very effective stepping stone to full time ministry for some, or an opportunity to test the water for others. Either way the emphasis is on getting your hands dirty as you get a taste of serving in almost every area of church life.

The formal structured training takes place through the North West Partnership’s North West Ministry Training Course, based in Leyland, and through regular meetings and discussions with the Senior Minister and other Staff, which includes a planned reading programme. Other training consists of ministry experience in a variety of settings, such as leading small group Bible studies, involvement in the church’s student work and children’s and youth work, a wide variety of practical service and thorough involvement in the life of the church family.

Find out about our current ministry trainees here.
