Ministry Training

As a local church we believe that it is our responsibility to carefully and consciously train and equip the next generation of gospel workers and to send them out into the harvest field for a life time of fruitful ministry. For some this will mean diverting their careers into full time word ministry, for others it will mean continuing to work for a living, but serving more productively as active members of their church. The Apostle Paul makes it clear that the gospel will prosper when it is passed on, deliberately and carefully, from one generation to the next, as faithful servants train others to do the same. (2 Timothy 2:2)
As a church in a University town with a growing number of students Moorlands is especially well placed to contribute to the growth of the Kingdom through training and sending out gospel workers into God's harvest field. Hence the Ministry Training part of our programme.
However we strongly believe that every Christian has a role in the local church, so all members of Moorlands are invited to serve in various ways and to take part in a number of training courses offering both principles of word ministry and practical ministry skills. Examples include:
- Welcoming New People to Church
- Following Up New Contacts
- Reading the Bible in Church
- Leading a One-to-One Bible Study
- Bible Skills Course
- Children’s Ministry Training
- How to Run a Christianity Explored Course
- Hospitality Training
