Returning Home

Returning home after spending some time in the UK can be difficult. You may have experienced "culture shock" when you arrived in the UK, and you are likely to experience "reverse culture shock" when you return to your home country. This site is here to help those preparing to return home. There are links, testimonies and other resources.

Testimonies

Ingrid

"As I moved cities in China, the love of God helped me to overcome the feeling of fear and loneliness. When I moved to Beijing, brothers and sisters in church help me to know that I have sincere friends in this unfamiliar city. They make me feel that I am not alone here; we are friends in Jesus."

Esther

"For the sake of God's glory, we are chosen to speak about Jesus through the Holy Spirit. The Bible teaching at Moorlands encouraged me to be on mission as an ordinary believer. I can speak about Jesus anywhere and anytime.”

Rachel

“I had been baptised for just ten months before I came to Lancaster, so Moorlands Church was my second home church. I grew to know more about Jesus during my one year in Moorlands, especially from the sermons. I saw true lives of love and grace from many people. The growing up in this year gives me strength and certainty when I am weak."

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
— Colossians 2:6-7
