We believe that church ought to be the high point of the week for Christians. We gather together as God's people to hear God speak to us through his word, the Bible, to respond in praise and prayer, and to help each other to keep living for Jesus.
When and where
We have one meeting over summer at 10.30am on Sunday mornings (we normally have two at 9.30am & 11.15am). Tea and coffee is served half an hour before the meeting.
Our meetings are held at Ripley St Thomas' Sixth Form Academy on Ashton Road, LA1 4RS.
What to expect
During the central part of our main meeting we sing a mixture of contemporary and classic songs which are chosen to engage both mind and emotions in response to the Word of God; we hear about and pray for church family news, and have interviews and updates on ministry and mission in which church members are involved. The big focus of our morning is hearing from the Bible as it is explained to us in the talk. We usually preach through a book of the Bible, letting it set the agenda.
You can find our Bible talks here.
After the first part of the meeting children under 11 join their own "Grub Groups" for age appropriate Bible teaching. They usually look at the same passage as the adults and young people. Throughout the year our Grub Groups have a number of opportunities to stay and listen to the sermon, to prepare them for adult life.
